This fetal stethoscope resembles a regular stethoscope except it has a bell shaped end that magnifies sound waves from the fetal heart beat in order to make them audible. It is useful as an inherently risk free and cheaper alternative to a Doppler Fetal monitor.
Crafted with care by Rachel Giaccone, a craniosacral therapist and birth educator with over 25 years of experience as a midwife, this lifesize placenta is a beautiful and tactile teaching tool. Made from soft velvet and satin, it features:
Realistic design – A full-sized placenta with detailed umbilical veins and arteries extending into the fetal side.
Double membranes – One side crafted from a blue-tinted net to represent amniotic fluid and membranes.
Authentic cord representation – A 52cm long cord, covered in gauze to mimic Wharton’s jelly, finished with a popper so you can attach a toy baby if desired.
Perfect for teaching, training, and discussion, this placenta model is a valuable resource for midwives, doulas, antenatal educators, and anyone looking to explore the role of the placenta and the third stage of labour. A great conversation starter with parents, birth workers, and medical professionals alike!
