Virtual International Day of the Midwife 2021
Join the ARM at the Virtual International Day of the Midwife which is a free 24 hour online conference held on May 5th to celebrate International Day of the Midwife. Now in its 13th year, the conference is organised and run by a volunteer team of ten senior midwifery and technology experts and the ARM is one of the sponsors of the conference enabling it to be free to all. The theme this year is ‘Birth Equity for All’.
Speakers from 23 countries across six continents will come together to present on innovations and research in midwifery practice in their country. Our very own Margaret Jowitt is one of the speakers discussing the role of the clitoris in the process of birth. In addition midwifery leaders are invited as keynote speakers spread across the world’s time zones. The World Health Organisation will be updating delegates on the current situation in the pandemic in a special pre-conference session. A poster presentation accompanied by podcasts will be held during the conference.
