Maria Garcia de Frutos
Maria Garcia De Frutos is a Midwifery Lecturer at City, University of London. She has a range of midwifery experience having previously worked in the NHS and third sector, and has expertise in public health and the politics of reproduction. Maria has led her clinical and academic career to meet the needs of the most vulnerable populations, both at local and international settings.
Her focus and research interests are health inequalities, women with complex socio-political needs, migrants and displaced populations.
“I hope the work I do contributes towards social and reproductive justice, and advocates for every woman and family to have a positive experience, regardless of where they are or where they come from”.
