ARM Retreat + Steering Group Meeting + AGM
Our annual retreat has become an ARM tradition. Midwives, students, colleagues and friends gather together to rest, debrief, cry, laugh, cook and eat together and enjoy being in the company of like-minded folk before returning to the hurly-burly of life. This year we hope to run our retreat but we will no doubt have to adapt to accommodate the advice around social distancing which will still be in place for some time.
For now, we are accepting booking for our original planned venue in East Yorkshire. This will involve a week in a large shared house. Prices £35 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast (per person sharing twin room), £200 for the full week. Concessionary rate for students and those on a low income £15 dinner bed and breakfast. We will go ahead with this option if the guidance allows but if you book and we have to cancel, your money will be fully refunded.
We do have plans B (camping) and plan C (online) so the retreat will go ahead even if we have to adapt. Elements of the retreat, the Steering Group and AGM will all have options to join online for those unable to make it in person even if some of us are able to do so without breaking the restrictions. We have no wish to imitate Dominic Cummings and his family and will only gather in a responsible physically-distanced manner if it is safe to do so.
You can purchase tickets for the East Yorkshire retreat from our shop-page (link below). However, before purchasing please send an email to Linda Wylie at firstname.lastname@example.org and to explain which nights you would like to stay and if you want to share a bedroom with anyone in particular. We can accommodate babies and children but please check with Linda first. Can you also let Linda know about any accessibility requirements which we will do our best to accommodate (the venue is very accessible). Your receipt is proof of purchase, we don’t issue physical tickets. Linda will send you a confirmation email when all the details are finalised. As said above, we reserve the right to change or even cancel and refund bookings according to circumstances. We look forward to seeing you!
Returns: The deposit of £35 is non-refundable (apart from if we have to cancel) and books your place. Once you have paid for your full ticket this is non-refundable (except if we have to change the retreat) though you may exchange your ticket.
Retreat venue: The Blue Bell, Burton Agnes near Bridlington, North York Moors & Coast
The Steering Group meeting will be on Saturday 19th 1100-1400 and AGM on Sunday 20th 1030 – 1500. Both meetings will either be completely online or a mix of in-person at the retreat venue and online. Online access will be announced on the website and via our social media outlets.
